The popular annual music and poetry evening at Ingatestone Hall this year falls in the week of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations so what more appropriate theme could there be than
‘This Royal Nation’
The programme will feature music and poetry with a royal connection from Tudor times to the present day, with music by Henry VIII and poetry by Elizabeth I to start an evening packed with musical and literary gems
We will be entertained with music by Purcell, Handel, Arne, Elgar, Ireland, Britten and The Beatles, all perfectly complemented by verse from Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Tennyson, John Betjeman, Andrew Motion and Pam Ayres
Ingatestone Hall has many royal and catholic links of its own and makes a perfect venue for this evening of cultural celebration
